Welcome to the NCNOC

Message From the Vice President - 2008

Welcome to the "Northern California Norton Owners Club" (NCNOC) website. The NCNOC is a group of about 150 Norton Motorcycle enthusiasts who enjoy riding our vintage Norton motorcycles as much as we like getting together and talking about our motorcycling experiences. Our members are mostly from the San Francisco Bay Area and include Norton mechanics, aficionados as well as individuals living the dream of owning and riding Norton's.

Club Members

We publish our "Norton Notice" about 12 times a year, hold regular club meetings the second Thursday of each month with a ride typically following the next Sunday. We support our Bay Area community by our commitment to the California Adopt-A-Highway program at Alice's restaurant on Skyline Blvd. We sponsor a club ride and campout early August to the Dardanelles Resort in the California Sierras each year on Highway 108 as well as an "Old Timer" ride in October to Huckleberry Flats near the town of Pescadero, California. This year we had a joint ride with the "North West Norton Owners Club" to Southern Oregon in late June on the Rogue River. In addition, our club is a branch club of the "International Norton Owners Association" (INOA). This year, the 2008 INOA Endless Mountains Rally was at Ives Run Campground at Hammond Lake Tioga, Pennsylvania July 21-25. In addition, we are a branch club of the "NOC-United Kingdom" and this web site provides information about joining the NOC and receiving their fine "Roadholder" magazine.

Local Norton-related businesses support our club by paid advertising, and this provides easy access to the parts and services you may need as a Norton owner. You can also run a free classified ad in the "Norton Notice" for bikes and parts wanted or for sale.

On this web site you will find current club information, calendar of events, pictures of members bikes, technical tips, local club information and contact information for the staff. You can renew your membership on line and pay via PayPal or by mail.

The NCNOC has long been associated with the Northern California BSA Club and our members have given much time and effort to setting up and manning our Club Booth at the famous BSA Clubman show in San Jose in late March each year. In 2008, we had 3 NCNOC booths at the Clubman show including a booth celebrating "40 years of Norton Commandos" highlighting our members Commandos, a Hospitality booth, and our Club booth. One of our members won "Best Late Norton" with his fine 1975 Norton Commando MKIII and I would like to thank all those who brought their machines and helped man our booths. Each year, the BSA club has an all British Motorcycle ride and feast in Novato that should not be missed.

We encourage you to join the NCNOC, to take full advantage of the benefits and features offered by our Club. We believe that Norton Motorcycles were the best of the vintage British bikes in their era and you will certainly be a special individual having the friendship and camaraderie of our members by joining our club. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact any of the officers listed at the Staff section of this site.

Sincerely,

Harry Bunting
